From a comment on Brad McQuaid’s being excited about the new Dream Theater album:
Talk bout Vanguard, or what you’ll be doing next.
Save this ‘New Dream Theater’ stuff for people who care about you as human. To us you are just a thing that will deliver us a game.
Well, that’s that, then!

Sign of our times or simply a sign of one person’s grossly distorted outlook on his fellow human beings?
Either way, it makes me very sad to read that.

Oh Noes!! People have a life that doesnt include giving people fun games.
The guy that writed that its a douche, but at least its a honest douche, instead of the backstabbing bitches that lurk around the Internet.

I’m hoping it’s meant as cynical performance art.

For some reason I don’t think Brad will be long for this whole “blogging” thing
“Jorev
Brad how much did you pay yourself a year while President of Sigil?”

I hate people.

Lol, gotta give the guy props for being funny
The internet is full of assholes… just gotta learn to ignore them.

This is what Scott is to most people, too.
Well, that and he’s occasionally insightful and funny.

MISANTHROPY U SYA?

But when one of those assholes start a blog talking about his passion for sports cars and motocross after spending months awol from the company he was president of, whose employees were canned in a parking lot, its hard not to poke fun.

Scott – more lambasting of Darkfall now! or it’s the thumbscrews again…
Save this ‘amusing comments linking’ stuff for people who care about you as a human. To us you’re just a thing that will deliver us a rant.

Wow. I mean if I were to be PERFECTLY honest, I admit if I am going to read a developer blog I would rather read something insider-ish or self examination of why a game flopped. (instead of “the past is the past”)
Let’s be real here, if the MJ’s and McQuaid’s of the world don’t learn from their own past, they are simply doomed to repeat their mistakes in the future.
That being said, the guy that wrote the quote above is a jackass. We should all care about other people. This is all text, but the people behind these words are real people with real stories. The OP that is quoted obviously has a very disturbing one.

Mind you, some MMO players view other players not as humans, but as things which will deliver them what they want. Actually I know a few people who act like that in real life also.
Stuff ‘em. They’re what’s wrong with just about everything.

The real funny part is, that commentor thinks brad still has a shot in the mmog industry.
#14 by wilhelm2451 on June 25th, 2009
Hrmph, there goes my theory that the comments were being heavily moderated.

“That’s okay. To us, you are a indistinguishable member amongst a race of tiny men that pay for our Porsches’ performance upgrades.”

@geldonyetich
BOOM HEADSHOT

Well, you can’t fault the guy for knowing what he wants.

Why the attention to one such comment on another blog?
Nothing to see here, move along, move along …

Hey Lum, talk about the Mythic/Bioware merger. Save this ‘Developers are people too’ stuff for people who care about you as human. To us you are just a thing that will deliver us witty commentary on the state of the MMO business.

Entitlement issues.

You mean Brad McQuaid is being treated in the same manner has he has treated others? Oh the Humanity! That guy was just someone who provided porsche upgrades for so long and took advantage of the situation. In that context, it seems quite apropos.
