Over the next thirty to forty-five days you might, if you’re one of them Second Life avatar dudes, that likes to go populate islands within Second Life, you will find an Army island in Second Life.
Well, then.

The army has never had to deal with Prokofy Neva before….

Is it just me or does that quote read like a keylogger post on the WoW forums?

Four million “young” people who regularly access SL?
You -have- been oversold.

The potential for bad jokes is almost too much to resist…

I’m inclined to agree with Bri, on this one. I can’t even pick which one to go with…
Still, I can’t b entirely shocked by this news. Heck, the army developed a game for recruiting, why not set up shop in an existing online world?

Does Don’t Ask Don’t Tell extend to furries?

The only thing worth reading from Reuters about SL was Warren Ellis’ column about what a freakshow it all was.

I remember when one of the software dev. chaps I work with checked out second life. He booted it up and within about 10 minutes was recieving rather… exotic messages.
Poor guy didn’t know quite what to do.

Doesn’t the Army’s recruiting policies preclude the majority of SL’s inhabitants from joining in the first place?

I don’t know if I’m banned already or they just didn’t open up the island yet because it says “You cannot teleport to this region”.
I plan to protest their age discrimination, they only hire up to age 41.
