So I decided to buy and actually eat one the other day. They’re essentially like Reese’s Cups.. the chocolate is a bit thicker. The filling is a white cream that’s fairly similar to melted Marshmellows, except it has coconut shavings in it. Kind of like the cross between a Mounds bar (without the almonds) and a Reese’s Cup (without the peanut butter). I’m not sure if I’m going to have another one any time soon. It’s just… weird.

There’s also a mail-in rebate offer on the inside. If you buy 20 of these you’ll collect enough points to get $1 back. Which is only $5, but still…

I’m not sure how I feel about that. On the one hand, I do have the strong urge to exclaim “lrn2play” but on the other hand maybe it’ll drive home how shitty it is for a combat system to be so gear-dependent.

In related news the Mallow Cup company’s web site was apparently designed in 1996 by the look of it. Jesus they must pay their web designer in mallo points.

Hmm…500 Mallo-points required per dollar back, 10 points per package at 25 cents each (that’s our subsidized rate…) means about $12.5 million worth of Mallo Cups to be a Mallo-millionaire. 50 million packages at 200 calories per package would yield about 70% of the energy required to send a 1000 kilogram spaceship to the moon and back by my non-rocket-scientist calculations (so give or take an order of magnitude or two), about double the energy required to power a house for a year, or about 15% of the energy required to bang keys fast enough to kill a warlock.

hmm, 5 rows of Mallo Cups you say that means there are probably 4 other vending machines in the NCsoft area that I will be pillaging.

I already drained the vending machine by our team down to fig newtons.

I talked to our vending machine guy (I work down the road a bit), and he said he sold 5 rows worth of Mallo Cups at the NCSoft building yesterday.
