Jack T.: SEX: GOOD! VIOLENCE: BAD!
#2 by Richard Campbell on January 28th, 2008
Well, Merkwurdigliebe, that’s a reasonable position.
I mean, you expect most non-gamers to grow up and have sex at some point in their lives.
Mass murder, not so much.

We are talking about Mass Effect right? Rated what? What sex is it you are talking about? Unless of course you define sex as kissing? Then most of us have had sex with our mothers?

Kindly tell Malas that I’ve got some cheap, cheap condos for sale if he’s interested.

I’m just glad he actually took a stance on the side of “no shit sherlock” for once.

I wonder what J.T.’s response would be if we were able to publish Janet Reno’s public opinion of the game….

Frankly, there’s room for a charismatic and reasonable oppositional stance to the GTA series. Mass murder, drug smuggling and boning prostitutes aren’t exactly societal virtues we want to reinforce in children.
Unfortunately, JT is neither charismatic nor reasonable.

And if they were actually rated for children, I’m sure a charismatic and reasonable opponent would appear.
But since they’re not, it’s about as silly as people bitching that the South Park movie contained content inappropriate for small children.

I’ve never read anything written by Jack about his stance on sex and/or violence, so I’m jumping to a HUGE conclusion that he doesn’t mind violent games such as Call of Duty and other military games. These games have you committing violence in the name of the State, whereas Grand Theft0rz Auto is just violence for personal fun and profit.
We could probably debate this until the end of time, but in the end most of us will be shunned as freaks for playing electronic entertainment past the age of 17 anyway, so who the fack cares WHY they think we are deviant.

I think I need to lie down now.

I didn’t realize we were in opposite world.
#12 by Jeremy Williams on January 28th, 2008
You mean bizarro world?
#13 by Zubon on January 28th, 2008
No, opposite world, which lies in relation to Bizzaro World as Bizzaro World is to ours, while still remaining opposite. It’s like a three-dimensional thing, only where each point is an entire dimension.
To quote Neo, “Whoa.”
