Who can argue, possibly, that Luke Skywalker meets Debbie Does Dallas is a good thing. It’s not. And I’m definitely not going to let Mass Effect in my house…

RAGE. BURNING.

Edit: I never thought I’d see the day: Electronic Arts, FORCE OF GOOD

I don’t get it, where were all these people when Playboy the game came out? It’s the same crap over again as when the “Hot Coffee” mod came out. Don’t worry it will go away soon enough.

So to sum up the comments thus far…

ZOMG FOX NEWS SUXXORZ They are ruining teh GAMERZ!

Let’s take a step back, shall we? Fox News is no better or worse in this regard. CNN and MSNBC all cater to their core viewers as well. And when you’re called out? Kill the messenger. So saying that you hate Fox News more because of this probably means you hated them already. Is it bad for FNC? Yes. Are they wrong? Absolutely.

Are they alone in having wrong or biased reporting? Heck no.

I’m a concerned parent as well as an MMO player. As Jeff Freeman can attest, I take a pretty strong stance on this stuff, and our debate on a related subject as a hole was linked as a very interesting debate by several blogs.

But here, even though seeing the entire scene made me a bit uncomfortable, it was tastefully done and had the kind of meaning that isn’t so harmful to young minds. It wasn’t a slam bam kind of thing. My kids see far worse on TV every night, and with parenting and all, I sure hope by now they recognize the difference between tasteful and meaningful compared to raw, meaningless, and emotionally empty stuff. Hell, I’m more concerned with some of the things said on TV at prime time in shows made for young adults and teens.

As far as FOX news, I watch it allot. I like it. I’m conservative. I agree with most of the view points expressed there. This is one of the times that I think they bungled it. I sincerely hope they revisit this with more accurate statements. If there’s one problem with ALMOST ALL of the primary TV news, it’s that they spend so little time on a subject as well as not sufficiently exploring it. Points can’t be made that way, and truth gets buried under the blanket of time constraints.

wzrd, you must be joking. I love NPR, they have no shortage of great programming, but they are in no way, shape or form balanced political coverage.

She apologized, check gamepolitics, or this thread once Scott’s spam filter decides to allow me.

Even NYPD Blue is getting in on the buttock action: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7210826.stm

    Quote:
“US television network ABC may have to pay a fine of $1.4m (£707,000) for airing an episode of NYPD Blue which depicted female nudity.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) said the 2003 show had “multiple, close-up views” of a woman’s buttocks before the US watershed.

The FCC deems “sexual or excretory activities” shown in an “offensive” way before 2200 as indecent.”

    ABC’s reponse:
“ABC has rejected the claims, saying the buttocks are not a sexual organ.”

    They have a point. :D

    Quote:
“The proposed penalty has been imposed on all 52 of ABC’s stations who broadcast the episode.”

What with realistic TV shows broadcast with parental warnings and Mature rated games showing buttocks, it’s no wonder the US are heading for chaos. How do you guys cope? ;)

Well I say Hurray! Look at all that free press! If anything that coverage is going to drive MORE sales for Mass Effect, not less.

My point exactly. I’m betting it was really advertising for the game.
