Nerd Rage Will Be One Of The Combo Moves

People seem upset about Soul Calibur recently for some reason.

I am only upset because Darth Vader is a PS3 exclusive.

  2. #2 by Ajeba on January 10th, 2008

Console exclusivity is just shorted sighted thinking.

James Madison and SHee-Ra (and the roul the murlock) being added might get me to purchase a “next-gen” console.

  4. #4 by Aufero on January 10th, 2008

Madison’s “thousand federalist paper cuts” move will be totally OP.

I’m with Sara, the main problem here is that I’d like to be able to play Darth Vader vs. Yoda.

I’m curious how they got the permission from Lucasfilm.

Money changing hands was most likely involved.

No way! Martin van Buren would be totally overpowered. His “Double Dragon Whig-Destroying Electoral Flame Burst” should be nerfed.

I saw your pic and I loled, then I clicked the link and saw Darth Vader doing anime combat poses and stopped lolling.

Never mind Luke, Han, Fett, or Maul. Where is the Star Wars kid?

  11. #11 by Soulflame on January 10th, 2008

They should include Aaron Burr. At least he has the distinction of winning his 1v1s.

every time I reload the site, it has a new design. that, or I have a tumor.

This isn’t a joke is it?

I wish fighting games included an option to opt out certain characters from the random pick, could be done from the options menu or wheverer. Even a simple toggle to “gimmick characters not included in random pick” would be nice. If that existed, decisions like theese wouldn’t realy be a bother. I will still get the game though, never were a fan of virtual fighter and dead or alive is the suck. Give me tekken or soulcalibur on the 360, soon!

I am only upset because Darth Vader is a PS3 exclusive.

    They’re making up for heihachi.

Besides, ps3 is the superior console.

Not that I’m doubting the skills of the SC characters and their vast ninja-y goodness, but doesn’t lightsaber kinda beat sword by default?

    I’m just sayin’.

The studios and game companies are the equivalence of modern day whores, doing anything for a buck.

Link and Spawn were one thing, but bringing in the non-game Star Wars milieu? Why stop there? Extend the whole franchise by adding Lord of the Rings and Marvel comics. If the series starts lagging, throw in a porn star or two – no one will notice or seem to mind.

If you think that’s bad, wait until NGE Soul Caliubur IV…

  19. #19 by Jackbnimble on January 12th, 2008

Hey, marvel comics worked for the street fighter series. ;-)

That’s nothing new. In fact, that was done before with Star Wars Galaxies before on a large scale. You know that random, inconsistent game world with a few Star Wars elements thrown in.

SW:G. Heh. I’m still waiting for Koster to say that the SW canon was an albatross around his neck.

Or did he already say that?

Martin van Buren fighting game: I’d buy it. Let’s make Constitutional Rumble with all the Founding Fathers. George Mason is going to kick some tail.

Seeing Martin Van Buren and knowing who it was before reading the comments immediately made me think Erik Wolpaw from Old Man Murray was going to be involved and I’d have to buy the game.
