Dropping The Nude Bomb

Apparently someone equipped a bop gun and dropped the bomb on Sword of the New World (pixellated slightly NSFW shots).

(As seen on Massively, the new MMO news blog from Joystiq which posts about 40 news stories an hour.)

I don’t know, to me that looks a lot like someone dropped some SL characters into the screenshots.

This may be tied to a problem that was identified earlier in October with the game’s launch by The9 in China:

I find it suspicious that I could only find 3 screenshots of the nudity. Surely players would take advantage of the situation more than that!!

The models are extremely detailed though, if that’s for real. I’m wondering what was going through the mind of the developers… possibly more than just perversion? That would be interesting… I myself believe nudity in an MMO that’s not a sex game would be a step forward for the industry. *shrug*

As a side note, the graphics of the game are beautiful, but I couldn’t enjoy the gameplay.

It wouldn’t suprise me that asian developers would draw nude models of their avatars and leave them in the game somehow, but those look very staged. I’m going to need to see an actual in-game screenshot, UI and all, before I can believe this.

Pretty sure it’s staged. If the character models were indeed naked, the scout’s (the one with grey hair) hair would be much shorter.

I played it. Didn’t see any nudity.

That first quest was a killer. You rescue a little girl in the dungeon, and then everything in the whole freaking dungeon attacks you.

I wasn’t paying attention to what the NPCs were saying though, so I might have missed some critical bit of info.

    Pretty funny.

What’s an IPF file? Could just look at the char_textture.ipf file if I knew what that was…

Honestly, I just don’t get this stuff.

YOU ARE ON THE GOD DAMNED INTERNET.

Typing something completely non-sexual into Google STILL has a 50-50 shot of producing tits and/or cock. Hell, something non-sexual may even have a higher percentage these days. I’m not going to research it, I can tell you that much.

I just don’t understand how people can be that starved for nipples…

  8. #8 by TPRJones on November 4th, 2007

There’s no such thing as too many nipples.

Well, I mean, two is good for one person. I’m thinking more in the global sense.

Ahh, the Nude Bomb. Maxwell Smart at his best. I need to find that movie again.

No need to do any research to support your random assertions, hellfire. I’ll do it for you.

Doing the following random searches, both image and normal search, and scanning the first page for tits and/or cock:

    fiber: No porn
    silver: No porn
    key: No porn
    ball: No porn (!!)
    lake: No porn

I’m not a statistician, but I’ll hazard a guess that this isn’t supporting your 50/50 claim.

Because there isn’t enough actual live porn on the internets, so it totally makes sense to care about nekkid computer characters.

Oh, baby, I want to put my ball key in your silver fiber lake….

    There, try again. :–)
