No video I’ve seen has tracked down the female undead dance, so I’m here to tell you: it’s how goth chicks dance in goth clubs.

Or at least, how they danced back in the mid-90s. After a decade, I can’t even be sure there are goth clubs anymore.

    … Awsome. Nice find.

I’m surprised they modeled the Draeni dance they way they did, rather then the Russian dance where they sit-and-kick. The tail would have given them excellent balance, and would have fit better with the accent.

    Still funny.

The gopak (the Russian sit-and-kick dance) is already done by male dwarves.

They still do, at least on some nights….

holy cow club neo is still around? Wait I just looked there, skinny puppy is still around too?

I am old. I live just north of there, and last year I saw some kid with blue hair and thought “doesn’t he care about what he looks like? How’s he going to find a job?” I have become my dad!

“The gopak (the Russian sit-and-kick dance)”

.. How in the world did you know that’s what it was called? That’s a Jeapordy! question in the making right there.

Incidently, I googled “russian dance sit kick”.. Guess what site came up first? It must be reassuring to know you’ll get traffic for oddly-phrased trivia questions.

“..is already done by male dwarves.”

Gah! Completely forgot about that.. Even after watching it… The mind slips with age and all…

    Couple more:
    Male troll: Capoeira
Female troll: Shakira in the “Whenever, wherever” video.

    For the record:

    Human:
Male: John Travolta, Saturday Night Fever
    Female: Macarena, while drunk

    Night Elf:
    Male: Michael Jackson, Bille Jean
    Female: Alizee

    Dwarf:
Male: traditional Cossack dance (I was wrong, the “Gopak” is Ukrainian and is the one where the dancers do vertical leaps while kicking outward)
    Female: Riverdance, traditional Irish dance

    Gnome:
    Male: modern disco
    Female: modern salsa
(no one can find the source videos for these which is probably why it wasn’t in this video)

    Draenei:
    Male: Daler Mendhi, pure awesomeness
Female: Belly dancing (Wowwiki credits it to Shakira)

    Orc:
Male: MC Hammer, “Can’t Touch This”
Female: Modern hiphop (Wowwiki credits it to Juvenile’s backup dancers in “Back that azz up”)

    Troll:
    Male: Capoeria
    Female: Shakira, “Whenever Wherever”

    Undead:
    Male: Headbanger
    Female: Goth

    Tauren:
    Male: “Raise the Roof”
    Female: Electric Slide

    Blood Elf:
    Male: Napoleon Dynamite
Female: Korean teen imitating Britney Spears (as seen in video)

Wowwiki has some source videos (some of which are out of date) linked here: http://www.wowwiki.com/Dancing

I always thought these two were sync’d up versions of ‘Doin da butt’ – course I can’t find any source video that’s close

    Female undead: Goth?

Although I don’t exactly know what Goth dancing is, I’m pretty sure that the female undead dance was taken from female deadheads dancing at Grateful Dead shows.

Am I the only one who thinks that the dance from Napoleon Dynamite looks much much more…gay, for lack of a better word, with the blood elves?
