Today on “Things I Just Can’t Make Up”
Tyra Banks, supermodel/altruist, helps a woman whose husband is gonna have to face it, he's addicted to WoW.
"Are you willing to kill Warcraft?"
As seen on Joystiq!

This could be the end of the world…
of Warcraft…
for him.

Credit where credit is due, the guy’s excuse is certainly… unique.
“I assume my kid is going to die from SIDS anyway, so I might as well avoid her by going on this raid.”
January 29th, 2007 - 11:38
I’m addicted to “The New Yankee Workshop”. I hope Tyra can help me before my family drowns in a sea of hat racks and pie safes!
January 29th, 2007 - 11:42
I thought the portrayal of the game as this dark evil force was a bit slanted in the opening minutes….
…then I heard “he left you during labor to go play a videogame?” and whatever sympathy I might have had for the guy pretty much evaporated.
January 29th, 2007 - 11:49
Well, at least they didn’t make him delete any of his characters. He can just go out and get the 2.99 trial which comes on a single DVD now instead of multiple discs.
January 29th, 2007 - 12:11
Let’s shred the disks! Oh. Wait. You can still play the game without the discs. Oh. And he still has his characters. Oh well.
January 29th, 2007 - 12:16
Yeah, can’t you just see him laughing to himself at the end? “Suckers… I’m gonna go home and hop on my Pally.”
Although there definitely is something wrong when you’re neglecting your crying child and not going to bed at night with your wife because WoW is more compelling.
January 29th, 2007 - 12:36
Going to bed (to sleep) with your wife is overated, but not nearly as much as WoW.
January 29th, 2007 - 13:42
I can’t watch this. It’s too much stupid for me to handle.
January 29th, 2007 - 14:23
Done with Tyra at 1, back in BWL by 2. Suckers!
January 30th, 2007 - 08:09
“No more WoW?!”
“No!”
“Well what the hell do I do now?”
“…”
“My uncle says smokin’ crack is pretty cool, maybe I’ll try that…”
January 30th, 2007 - 11:20
I was totally looking forward to seeing him delete his characters on live TV.
January 30th, 2007 - 12:59
Yeah Heather, me too.
January 30th, 2007 - 18:15
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
That was my laugh for the day. I too wanted to see him delete his characters. That is the only true measure of someone’s desire to quit.
Guess Tyra is afraid of getting sued if the guy changes his mind, loses it and kills his wife and kid instead of the bad guys in WoW.
January 30th, 2007 - 21:37
It’s Tyra Banks, folks. Honestly, I could only stomach about 3 minutes of this.. Up to the “he went and played while I was in labor” bit. Then I felt my head beginning it’s countdown to detonation into a warm pink mist and had to shut it off.
No doubt this guy is a complete tool, but I think his 19 year old wife is probably going to have to seek some self-help. This guy certainly isn’t mentally ready for, well, anything..really.
Goddamn kids.
January 30th, 2007 - 23:53
I stopped watching when Tyra showed she had absolutely no clue about WoW or MMORPGs. No people? No human beings? Just a computer? Just a video game? Perhaps I was giving Tyra too much credit, after all, she’s only a model.
January 31st, 2007 - 00:20
Just to point out, they are both awfully young. Living together and raising a kid probably means they can’t go out much. In addition, my money says that back when he was laying the pipe to her and creating this kid, she wasn’t going to sleep at 10 o’clock either.
Let’s review…19 year old gets his gf pregnant. He gets a job, they live together, have the kid get engaged. He picks up a hobby in WoW at about the point in the pregnancy where he can no longer bang his future wife. She starts going to bed early, he stays up and plays video games…at home, for $15 a month.
Yeah, the problem here is an already henpecked guy trying to do the right thing, and his gf bitching that it’s not good enough.
Although I would have respected him a lot more if he said. “Fine, no more WoW. Here’s the CDs, you go ahead and shred them, I’ll be at the titty bar”.
Bring the noise.
Cheers……….
