Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow (Because Ice Sux0rz)

January 16th, 2007

So we’re currently in Day 2 of the ICEPOCALYPSE. What in Northern Virginia would be a small story in the Metro section of the Post about sanders hitting the streets is, in central Texas, the sixth Horseman of the Apocalypse (after death, taxes, pestilence, Republicans and toll roads).

On the upside, I’m getting a lot of work done on our design wiki at work from VPN while watching cheesy old TV shows on TNT-HD. Thus proving that I’ll watch pretty much anything in hi-def, even while not actually, you know, watching it.

On the downside, I’m home on the day Burning Crusade launches. This for most people would be an upside, except that in my jaded wisdom I had the boxes pre-ordered and delivered. To work. Yeah, funny how that works out.

Oh well, getting lots of work done, while idly watching snow in my back yard. In the middle of Texas. Whee!

Edit: This is what TV looks like in Austin tonight. In OH-MY-GOD-WE-ARE-ALL-GOING-TO-DIE-STAY-OFF-THE-DAMN-ROADS 48 point type.

I’m sure it’ll be on certain unnamed file sharing systems in about 20 minutes.

Not that that solves the problem of how to get the CD-Key to upgrade one’s account. >_>

Speaking of scenic NoVA and weather-related apocalypses, it was 70 degrees yesterday.

And LoH didn’t push you against the ice storm to retrieve the treasure?

    From: NYC
    To: Texas

Due to a shipping error, you received our snow. You can keep it.

We could use some of that up here in Minnesota. Just had our first real accumulation yesterday, finally. A mere 3 inches, maybe. Pah.

I mean, when you’ve went to all the bother of choosing to live in a place that’s supposedly a frigid blizzard-wracked hell, the least it could do is be, say, brisk?

Apparently I’m the only (RPG) nerd in North America who couldn’t care less about The Burning Crusade ™.

We have had ice caked on our roads for a week now in normally rainy Circa Seattle. I used to appreciate the wonder and beauty of it. Now I want Old Man Winter’s head on a platter.

I’m in Seattle too and it’s plenty icy here, but Portland isn’t doing any better:

That’s an amazing video, Joe. It reminds me of the way I drive in Saint’s Row.

That screenshot says 30 degrees if I’m not mistaken. Pussies.

North Idaho checking in at 50 degrees less than that last night. Before wind chill. Of course, we expect this type of weather, so I guess I get your point.

    Cheers

I posted on about 40 posts before i just to hell with you CD-Keyless people who say its Brokdededeedededed.

DELETE your WOW CACHE. UNINSTALL IE:7. Reinstall IE:7
DO NOT USE MOZILLA to register your CD KEY. After these steps are done register using IE:7…why does this work for so many ? Hell if i know or care. I hope it works for you. If it does not,go back to whereever you bought it with a dozen screen shots, act like a big prick, never a problem for me, and they WILL exchange it. Make sure you mention OUTLOUD how store XXXX is carrying defective products and INTENTIONALLY releasing them to the public so they dont loose sales. Fortune does NOT favor the bold, it favors the pricks.

If your CDs arent working, RIp,ISO( alcohol 120% or powerISO)MOUNT(Deamon tools works fine no matter what the high paid techs at blizz say)and install. I found that ripping to a desktop folder would cause more cache errors as well as a few MPQ errors where mounting an ISO eliminated them all.

hey, i hope this helps. If not, sorry for you and snail mail

Oh, and after the cluster Duck of the free char moves with me paying for 2 moves on top of it so i can sit and stare at 10 level 9 60’s on 1 screen…was a joke. I got piled in a server with the biggest group of dipshits ever to grace this game. I packed my bags, blew off the toons and moved to the PVE EST server. God….save me
