Update: There No Longer Is A Cat Under My Bed
Today our new cat decided to make a mad dash for freedom while a door was opened, and immediately disappeared for parts unknown. I suspect that, being an older cat, he was dead set to return to wherever he considered home. Although he has a microchip, I doubt we'll see him again.
Further updates as they happen. Or not.

Probably left to travel the Straight Road and reunite with his wife. Or save humanity from Xenu, depends if you decided to change his name yet.

You know, giving the cat your old DAoC account while keeping the WoW account for yourself might have pissed him off.

Man that sucks.
Our older cat twice mad that mad dash, she came back ten days later the first time and twelve days later the second. So just listen for a meowing beast at strange hours.

Four days?
You clearly need a slower pet.
How about a turtle?

You’d be surprised. He might turn up after a while.
When my friend moved to Guam, he had to put his cat in a mandatory quarantine for a month. The day he went to pick the cat up out of the holding kennel, it jumped out of his arms and sprinted right into the jungle. Two and a half years later, he gets a call. Someone found his cat in their backyard and got the owner’s information from the tag that was still dangling from the cat’s neck.

I just got 2 kittens and this is my biggest fear. They always lurk near the doorway when they sense I’m about to leave.

Put a mirror out by your door, it’ll draw the cat back if it’s nearby; better yet get a duck.

Pepper my friend… if your cat lurks around the door put some pepper down. Cat will avoid the area usually.

I hate it when cats leave to go powerlevel.

He’ll come back when he gets hungry.
That’s what my mom always said and she was usually right.

Your cat called. He told me to tell you to enjoy the fleas he left in your new house.

Aquarium fishes make nice pets indeed…
Unless you live in New Orleans though… =)

Well, that sucks. I hope you find your kitty.
My cat made an escape through an open window a couple years ago. Attempts to locate him immediately after the break were unsuccessful. I did find him the next morning, right as I was about to give up — he was huddled under the neighbor’s porch, apparently confused and crying piteously. Dumb cat.
